SONG DYNASTY 960-1279 CE
The Song Dynasty ruled a majority of China. During this period of time the Song Dynasty contained 60% of China's population. The people of the Song Dynasty developed cities not only for administrative purposes but also for trading centers. Trade began to link coastal provinces with interior landholding. So who was leading all these people? Emperor Taizu was the original founder of the Song Dynasty. During Taizu's rule he removed military power by placing it under control of the emperor. This led to a rather centralized state power.
