ZHOU DYNASTY 1122-221 BCE
The Zhou Dynasty was the beginning of China's Iron Age. It was the longest lasting Dynasty but still came to an end just like any other great Dynasty. The Zhou Dynasty had many important leaders, but one specifically among them was King WenWang the Chief of the tribe. He was very powerful and for many years tried to overthrow the Shang. Although he never did, when he died his son Ji Fa (WuWang) became the next leader and successfully conquered the Shang. He build down the whole city and build a new one on top of it. WuWang established the Zhou Dynasty and made Haojing its capital.

The Zhou Dynasty had major accomplishments and new advancements. They discovered a new writing approach. This style of writing used pictures and characters to stand for whole words. This way no matter what language you spoke or how you pronounced words you could always communicate with others. Anyone could understand you. This Chinese language consisted of over 3,000 letters. Another great invention was dying yarns and woven materials like silk and linen. Silk was very important for trade because no other country knew how to make it. Having these materials also made it easier for clothing to be made
